| 内容記述 | While Word Grammar and Cognitive Grammar have evolved along two distinct paths, the resultant convergence of their theoretical perspectives is quite surprising. We will examine here what they each other. Especially worthy of our attention are the two different aspects of language these theories seem to be interested in; Word Grammar attempts explicit but static modeling of language, while Cognitive Grammar intends to capture the dynamic, ever-changing aspects of language. Another significant difference is found in the two theories’ treatment of grammatical constructions. I shall argue that the theory of Word Grammar would be further streamlined with the construction-based syntactic devise at its disposal. | |||||||
