We will examine here what they each other. Especially worthy of our attention are the two different aspects of language these theories seem to be interested in; Word Grammar attempts explicit but static modeling of language, while Cognitive Grammar intends to capture the dynamic, ever-changing aspects of language. Another significant difference is found in the two theories’ treatment of grammatical constructions. I shall argue that the theory of Word Grammar would be further streamlined with the construction-based syntactic devise at its disposal., 近畿大学}, pages = {113--133}, title = {Word Grammar from a Cognitivist Perspective}, volume = {55}, year = {2003} }
